What animal does cashmere come from?
Cashmere comes from the soft undercoat of the cashmere goat (Capra hircus), which naturally grows this fine layer to survive cold climates in regions like Inner Mongolia, Mongolia, and the Himalayas. The fibers are extremely fine—usually 14–19 microns—making them softer and lighter than regular wool.
