Will Brooks Brothers come back to Canada？

As of early 2025, there are no official plans for Brooks Brothers to reopen physical stores in Canada.

The brand closed all of its Canadian retail locations in May 2024 after its Canadian operating partner (which also ran Ted Baker and Lucky Brand in Canada) filed for bankruptcy.

Can you still buy it?

Yes, but only online.

• Website: You must order from the U.S. website (brooksbrothers.com). The dedicated Canadian site is no longer active.

• Shipping & Duties: They ship to Canada, but you will likely face international shipping fees. Additionally, duties and taxes are often collected by the carrier upon delivery, making orders significantly more expensive than before.

• Returns: Returns are more difficult; you cannot return items to a store and must pay to ship them back to the U.S. warehouse.

Why did they leave?

The closure was due to the insolvency of Ted Baker Canada, the group that held the license to operate Brooks Brothers stores in the country. It was a corporate partner failure rather than a decision by Brooks Brothers U.S. to “give up” on the Canadian market.

Is there any hope for a return?

For Brooks Brothers to return, the U.S. parent company (Authentic Brands Group) would need to sign a deal with a new Canadian distributor or decide to open stores directly. While this is possible in the future given the brand’s popularity, no announcements have been made as of this time.
