Are alpaca sweaters itchy?
High-grade alpaca (especially baby or royal alpaca, under 22 microns) is non-itchy and silky. It lacks lanolin, so it’s ideal for sensitive skin. Lower grades (huacaya) may feel slightly coarser but can be softened by enzyme washing or wool-blend spinning during production.
